The Panerai replica has become increasingly popular and ever-present in the world of fakes, gaining a lot of attention, certainly a lot more than it did, let’s say, about five years ago. I can even safely say that, aside from Rolex, Panerai is one of the most replicated brands out there, both as an homage (where small details are changed and produced under a different name, Parnis, for example) and as a Panerai replica. Whichever it is, the end product is satisfactory to say the least.
In this article, I want to focus more on the Panerai replica part, rather than on the homage. By the way, I know I’ve written a guide on how to spot fake Panerai not long ago, but I think the information you’ll find here will be useful as well, and also part of the general Panerai replica guide.
As I said, it’s impossible not to find a Panerai replica on just about any replica site out there. Of course, some will provide better copies and a greater variety than others, but that’s another talk.
The reason for this increased demand in fake Panerai watches is simple – the minimalistic design allows manufacturers to get really close to original, especially in the last decade, where there’s an obvious sign of technological improvement of the assembly lines and so on. I’ve seen long threads on specialized forums that discuss whether a certain Panerai is a fake or the real deal, so believe me, it’s becoming harder and harder to tell the difference, especially if you don’t know what to keep an eye out for.
I said it before, but I don’t think it will hurt to point it out again, no one will grab you by the wrist, in order to closely inspect your wrist. I honestly think that about 70-80% percent of the Panerai Luminor replica and Radiomir replica watches won’t give you away. That is, of course, if your whole image doesn’t give you away. What I mean by that is that credibility is a must. If you’re flipping burgers for a living, seriously now, you can’t afford such a wristwatch, so having a Panerai replica won’t fool no one. Nevertheless, if you like the design but you can’t afford the original, then go ahead and buy it. As long as you don’t strut around, it’s alright.
But I digress… Let’s have a look at some sub-par replicas, the ones that were available before this new wave of authentic looking fake Panerai watches. Comparing such a Panerai replica and an original, you’ll be able to tell almost instantly which is which. Also, I’m going to post a few pictures of best Panerai homage alternatives. Your comments are very welcomed, so feel free add or ask anything.
